As a show of support for the community, Bookkeeper Girl will be a “Starting Line” sponsor for the 1st. Annual 5K Run/Walk entitled, DATCU DASH. Hundreds of avid racers/walkers have signed up for this May 22, 2010, event to be held at 7:30 AM at South Lakes Park located at 556 Hobson Lane. All proceeds of this event will benefit United Way of Denton County.
This year’s 5K Run/Walk is just one of several fund raisers that DATCU employees conduct every year as huge supporters of the United Way. In addition to the DATCU DASH, the employees donate a percentage of their paychecks and create hand-made purses. They get the customers involved by giving them the opportunity to vote for the best one as they enter the Credit Union. Last year, the DATCU Credit Union employees created a cookbook with all of the proceeds of its sale going to the United Way, along with the other fund raisers.
Bookkeeper Girl recognizes the ingenuity of the DATCU employees and the importance of The United Way of Denton County and is proud to participate as a sponsor for the DATCU DASH.
